Every Tuesday and Thursday @ 10:30 am
On Your Mark, Get Set, Read! This summer at story time, join us for books, songs, crafts, and activities. This program is intended for children ages 2-6, but all ages are welcome. Our first session is Tuesday, June 28th! No registration required!

Every other Wednesday in July @ 2:00 pm
Join us for a fun live animal program from the Briarbush Nature Center.

July 6th: How Animals Move– They slither, crawl, hop, fly, and scurry. Each animal has its own unique way of moving. Watch Briar Bush’s animals move in their own unique ways and then try doing some moving of your own!

July 20th: Animal Defenses– How would you protect yourself in a dangerous situation? Animals have a variety of ways that they protect themselves; some are familiar, some are gross, and some are downright bizarre! Learn about animal defenses from our not-so-dangerous animal ambassadors.

This program is perfect for children in grades 1-5. There is not registration online. Tickets will be given out on a first come first serve basis to the 1st 40 children starting 30 min. prior to the program.

Let’s make a movie! We will be turning a Newbery award winner or honoree book into a 90 second flash movie. This isn’t a summary or a book report, this a full dramatization in 90 seconds or less! Children will act out the scenes, make the props and have fun making a movie! The book we chose is From the Mixed-up Files or Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler by E.L. Konigsburg. Pick up a copy of the book starting on May 24th. For children in grades 3-6. Please register online.  Our first session will be Thursday, July 7th!

* We ask that participants try to commit to the full amount of sessions so we have a consistent group for filming.

Enjoy fun science-based crafts and activities lead by Miss Ann. This summer our Summer Reading theme is “On Your Mark, Get Set, Read!” and what better way to celebrate the theme than with our Penny Packed Olympic games!
This program is for children in grades 1-5.

A drop-in play time for our youngest friends. We will put out our Wee Build toys in the Children’s area and caregivers and their little ones can play, discover and learn. For ages Birth-PreK. Our first session is Monday, July 11th! No registration required! All are welcome!

Play your favorite sports with balloons! This program is for kids entering grades 1-4. No registration required.

Wednesday, July 20th @ 6:30 pm
Join us out on the front lawn (Weather Permitting) as we play bingo to win stickers and bookmarks! No registration required! Please bring a beach blanket to sit on.

Let’s Play School is an fun online program to help parents get their children (ages 3-5) prepared to read, write, and listen in school! Children will complete 20 interactive lessons on a variety of topics and collect badges. (Badge logs are available at the Circulation and Reference desks.) Children can collect prize stickers as they complete their lessons with a final prize at the end. Click here to get started!

Join us for a fun and energetic performance from Turtle Dance! Turtle Dance Music engages all children with high energy, novel, funny and interactive music concert. This is the perfect program for children entering Pre-K-2nd grade! There is no online registration for this program. Tickets for the performance will be given out on a first come first serve basis 30min. prior to the program.

Wednesday, July 27th @ 10:30-11:30 AM
Explore a Rainbow of possibilities with Doylestown Health! Children will learn the nutritious benefits of a “colorful” diet through interactive games, hands-on learning stations and discussion. Explore the importance of a variety of fruits and vegetables, discover nutritious food choices, and craft your very own rainbow plate!
This program is open to the first 30 children. Tickets will be given out 15 minutes prior to the start of the program.

Saturday, August 6, 2016
Come one, come all… to the Mad Science Physics Olympics! Children will have a chance to compete in wacky events, while the mad scientists prepare to unveil their top-secret motion machine. Come and discover the science behind some of your favorite Olympic sports and find out why this show is such a “blast!” For ages 3-12.
There is no pre-registration for these performer programs. Tickets for the programs will be given out on a first come first serve basis to the first 90 people. Parents and children can get a ticket 30 min. prior to the programs start.

Tuesday, August 16th @ 10:30-11:15 AM & 1:30-2:15 PM
Kindergarten is right around the corner so join us for stories, songs, and a craft as we prepare for the first day! No registration required! All are welcome!

Beginning April 1, 2016, attraction passes may be checked out to Bucks County resident card holders for a $5 fee per pass. Warminster and Ivyland residents will continue their free pass status. See the Reference Desk for a complete list of passes and new policy details. Sites include the Academy of Natural Sciences, Battleship New Jersey, Bucks County Children’s Museum, Da Vinci Science Center, Elmwood Park Zoo, Garden State Discovery Museum, Glencairn Museum, Grounds for Sculpture, Morris Arboretum, National Liberty Museum, Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Pearl S. Buck International, and the Penn Museum . Passes are available on a first come, first serve basis and may be checked out for three days, including the day of checkout. At the minimum, passes are good for up to two adults and at least three children. Certain destinations have more allowances. Please call the Reference Desk for more specific details and be sure to take advantage of this wonderful program this summer!!
