PRESS RELEASE BURGLARY ARREST
On February 2, 2017 at about 1:55am, a uniformed police officer on patrol observed a suspicious person at the front door of the Country Farms Store located at 287 York Road. The officer also spotted another suspicious person near the corner of the building. As the officer went to investigate the suspicious persons fled the area and were not immediately located. Officers found that the power and phone lines for Country Farms were cut and the front door had fresh pry marks. No entry was gained. While searching for the suspicious persons, officers located a vehicle in the parking lot of Mike’s Lock Shop directly next door to the Country Farms. The vehicle displayed a registration plate which was recently stolen from Upper Moreland Township. The vehicle also contained items that the officers recognized as burglary tools.
The officers conducted surveillance of the vehicle and about 5:00am, spotted two individuals in the vehicle removing the burglary tools. These individuals were subsequently taken into custody and were positively identified as the suspicious person seen earlier attempting to break into the Country Farms. Officers also found items in their possession which were later found to have been stolen from a burglary in Upper Moreland Township earlier in the night.
The two individuals (named below) were subsequently charged with Criminal Attempt to Commit Burglary, Criminal Trespass, Possession of an Instrument of Crime and Receiving Stolen Property. They were arraigned before the MDJ Daniel J. Finello Jr. and held in the Bucks County Correctional Facility in lieu of $200,000 10% bail. The Upper Moreland Police are continuing their investigation in cooperation with the Warminster Police. 020317 Press Release – Country Farms Att Burg
