News and Notes

THANK YOU
The Park & Recreation Department would like to thank several businesses that supported our events and parks in 2019. Major event sponsors included Archbishop Wood High School, BCWSA, Citadel, Cowhey Family ShopRite of Warminster, First Bank, Gilmore & Associates, Hatboro Federal Savings, Havis, Inc., JP Mascaro & Sons, NWWA, and Renk Electric to name a few.

A huge thanks to Grief, which donated 85, 55-gallon drums to the parks department for park trash cans. Without this tremendous support, we would not be able to provide events and activities to our residents free or at minimal cost. Sponsorship opportunities are available for events and park items, large and small. Call the Parks & Rec office if you wish more information about any of the services we provide to the community

EAGLE SCOUT/GOLD STAR PROJECTS
For troops looking for community service hours, we still need assistance with the storm water protection project. In accordance with DEP regulations, all of the storm water drains in the municipality need to be marked or stenciled with “no dumping”. Any troop or Eagle Scout interested in this project for community service should contact the Parks & Recreation Department at (215)443-5428 as soon as possible.

GOT A SPECIAL EVENT, TRIP OR TOUR IDEA?
We are always on the lookout for new events and trips to offer our residents. If you have an idea for a trip or special event, and/or wish to become a volunteer for these activities, please don’t hesitate to call us @ (215) 443-5428.

PERENNIALS FOR PARKS
If you are dividing your perennials this spring, why not donate your “discards” to the Parks Department to improve our park landscaping. Due to limited maintenance staff, please call before dropping off marked plants at the Parks & Rec office between March 1 and May 1, as we may not have staff time to plant them. Or if you wish to help and install them yourself, just call (215) 443-5428 and we’ll provide guidelines for where to plant in the parks.
