SPECIAL DONATION BRINGS MORE FUN TO THE PARK!
The Parks & Recreation Department would like to extend a special thanks to Grete Yeadon for her very generous donation to Warminster Community Park. The Friends of Warminster Parks is delighted to match her donation to create an all-inclusive, non-competitive basketball court called “Bankshot Basketball”. This unique multi-backboard venue focuses on individual skill rather than team competition. Everyone can play! We hope to have the court completed by Spring 2022. Donate to this all-inclusive project at www.Friendsofwarminsterparks.org.
SPECIAL THANKS TO OUR LOCAL BUSINESSES
The Park & Recreation Department would like to thank several businesses that supported our events and parks in 2021. Major event sponsors included Cowhey Family ShopRite in Warminster, Hatboro Federal Savings, Penn Community Bank, JP Mascaro & Sons, Quaint Oak Bank, Gilmore & Associates, Mallard Plumbing & Electric, Citizens for A Better Warminster, O’Neil Buick, Nancy’s Farm, QNB Bank, to name a few. Without this tremendous support, we would not be able to provide events and activities to our residents free or at minimal cost. Sponsorship opportunities are available for events and park items, large and small. Call the Parks & Rec office if you wish more information about any of the services we provide to the community!
Cowhey Family ShopRite has committed funds to purchase a sunshade for a section of Safety Town so that we may add much needed shade to this facility. We invite all families to enjoy this unique play area. Bring your scooter, trike, or big wheel to enjoy the space. No motorized scooters or vehicles, adult-size bikes or animals permitted in the facility. Schools, daycare facilities & groups must make a reservation and area will remain open to the public. There are still a few “store front” leases available for area business sponsorship. Call the Parks & Rec Department if interested.

|EV CHARGING STATION AVAILABLE IN WCP
Warminster has gone green with an Electronic Vehicle Charging Station in Warminster Community Park (WCP)! Thanks to a grant from the PA DEP Driving PA Forward Funding Program, and donations from Renk Electric and the Friends of Warminster Parks, this ChargePoint EV station is available to any resident with an electric vehicle. EV designated parking spaces are located by the Park & Rec office in WCP’s main parking lot. The EV station is available during park hours for a fee. Come enjoy the park while charging your vehicle! Accounts: An account will be needed with ChargePoint (at no fee) to pay/use the charging station. You can pick up an account card in the Parks and Recreation office during regular business hours, or you can create a free account at www.ChargePoint.com. Warminster Township Parks and Recreation cannot accept any money onsite for charging.
For our events to be successful, we are seeking volunteers who wish to assist. No worries about the time commitment – it can be as little as a half hour to multiple hours and on a flexible schedule. Let us know if you are interested by contacting the Parks & Rec office at 215-443-5428. Please be aware youth programs will require a background check.
AMAZING COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS
We would like to thank several individuals and organizations that assisted the park staff with taking care of the trees and gardens at Warminster Community Park to keep our space beautiful. Peggy & Walton Hathaway worked hard all spring and summer to create the beautiful pollinator garden in front of the WREC. Walton Hathaway and Lori Voltmer must be commended for their constant cleanup efforts. Also, thank you to the employees of PECO and NovaCare Rehabilitation for mulching our park trees and planting the new beds!
Warminster Parks & Recreation has discount Premier Regal Entertainment Movie Tickets ($9.50) and Flower Show Tickets. Due to Covid, many ski resorts and amusement venues are not providing discount tickets at this time. We hope this will change during the summer. PERENNIALS FOR PARKS
If you are dividing your perennials in spring or fall, consider donating your “discards” to the Parks Department to improve our park landscaping. Or if you wish to help and install them yourself, just call (215) 443-5428 and we’ll provide guidelines for where to plant in the parks.
