SKATE SPOT DONATION

A Memorial Golf Tournament for Kyle Quinn was held at Five Ponds Golf Course on Friday, October 21, 2022. At the tournament, Kyle’s parents Denise and Leo Quinn and other members of the Quinn family presented a check for $3,000 from the Kyle Quinn Memorial Fund to the Friends of Warminster Parks.

The funds will be combined with other donations and will be used to enhance the Kyle Quinn Skate Spot located at Munro Park in Warminster. The skate park has been used by hundreds of skateboarders since its creation in 2007. The enhancements will attract even more skateboarders in the future.

The Friends of Warminster Parks and the Warminster Parks and Recreation Department thank the Board of the Kyle Quinn Memorial Fund for this generous donation.

SPECIAL DONATION BRINGS MORE FUN TO THE PARK!
The Parks & Recreation Department would like to extend a special thanks to Grete Yeadon for her very generous donation to Warminster Community Park. The Friends of Warminster Parks is delighted to match her donation to create an all-inclusive, non-competitive basketball court called “Bankshot Basketball”. This unique multi-backboard venue focuses on individual skill rather than team competition. Everyone can play! We hope to have the court completed by Spring 2022. Donate to this all-inclusive project at www.Friendsofwarminsterparks.org.

SPECIAL THANKS TO OUR LOCAL BUSINESSES
The Park & Recreation Department would like to thank several businesses that supported our events and parks in 2022. Major event sponsors included Cowhey Family ShopRite in Warminster, Hatboro Federal Savings, JP Mascaro & Sons, First National Bank of Newtown, Gilmore & Associates, Flager & Associates, Renk Electric, Citizens for A Better Warminster, and O’Neil Buick, and NovaCare to name a few. Without this tremendous support, we would not be able to provide events and activities to our residents free or at minimal cost. Sponsorship opportunities are available for events and park items, large and small. Call the Parks & Rec office if you wish more information about any of the services we provide to the community!

Cowhey Family ShopRite has committed funds to purchase a sunshade for a section of Safety Town so that we may add much needed shade to this facility. We invite all families to enjoy this unique play area. Bring your scooter, trike, or big wheel to enjoy the space. No motorized scooters or vehicles, adult-size bikes or animals permitted in the facility. Schools, daycare facilities & groups must make a reservation and area will remain open to the public. There are still a few “store front” leases available for area business sponsorship. Call the Parks & Rec Department if interested.
