Adult Programs

Welcome to the Warminster Township Free Library’s Adult Programs.

For additional information on programs, contact the Information Services Desk at 267-317-1333.

June 16-August 3

How do you participate?
Visit the library beginning June 9 to pick up a sheet of 6 Adult Summer Reading Entries. There is no limit to the number of books you can read, and you can always come in for more entry forms or download them from the website. We understand that reading to kids or grandkids is an important activity for their literary development; however, picture books DO NOT count towards ADULT summer reading.

Our Adult Services Librarian has also created a list of recommended titles. If you read any of those titles, you will receive ONE extra entry into the prize drawing. Titles not included on the list, but still relating to art, can also be used for an extra entry. All we ask is that you write a review on the back of the ticket to explain how art is part of the story.

Art encompasses many different mediums. It could be a story about a painter, or a human turned fae who uses painting to cope (ACOTAR fans unite!), but it could also be a story about musical theater. Or a book that was turned into a musical that was then turned into a movie musical (looking at you, Wicked).

Ticket slips will be available for pickup at the library and online between June 9 and July 26. The last day to return your logs is August 9. The prize winners will be notified on Wednesday, August 13.

In addition, we will be offering tickets to any adult who participates in a specific “Color Your World” summer program.

Don’t have time to stop in?

You can print one off at home. Go to warminstertownship.org/library and click on Adult Programs. You will find a link to a printable PDF. Click here to download a log to print from home.

You will need to come into the library to drop off your completed ticket slips.

Who can participate?
This program is for adults only. Anyone over the age of 18 (or if you will be attending college in the fall) is eligible.

How does the program work?

READ! Fill out an entry square after you have finished reading a book. If the book uses any type of art in the story, please provide a brief explanation on the back. Entries with titles relating to art count as 2 entries. If you choose to read a title from our librarian-created list, you do not need to write an explanation. The book has already been verified.

PARTICIPATE! Come to any of the following library programs during the Summer Reading dates and earn a ticket. Remember to sign in so we know you attended. Our virtual art classes will count as well: show us your work of art to earn your ticket. The list of programs is below:

  • Color Your Canvas: June 21, June 27, July 5, July 8, July 15, July 19, July 22
  • Adult Art Series: June 16, July 7, July 21, August 4

  • Audiobooks? Counts. Check out our online audiobooks through CloudLibrary and Hoopla.
  • Ebooks? Definitely counts! Check out our online ebooks through CloudLibrary and Hoopla.

Our librarian-curated list may serve as a guide however, you are always welcome to read whatever you like.

Are there prizes?
You bet there are! At the end of Summer Reading, all program tickets and entry slips will be tallied and mixed together. A staff member will then pull a winner for each prize. We have one grand prize of a $100 VISA gift card and four runner-up prizes of $50 VISA gift cards.
